ENGINEERING & MEDIA SELECTION

Start with the right questions

No single media suits every process. Let the application and its parameters guide the choice.

01 / PROCESS INPUT

Material & separation goal

Particle distribution, solids content, viscosity, filtrate quality and target cake moisture.

02 / PROCESS INPUT

Chemistry & temperature

Process composition, pH, continuous and peak temperature, cleaning chemicals and frequency.

03 / PROCESS INPUT

Equipment & fabrication

Equipment type, drawings, dimensions, feed openings, seams, cuffs and sealing details.

04 / PROCESS INPUT

Operation & evaluation

Flow, differential pressure, cycle time, cake discharge and current failure modes.

Selection questions

Can I choose cloth by pore size alone?

No. Weave, particle shape, cake formation and pressure drop all influence actual retention. Evaluate the process and test results together.

How do I assess temperature and chemical compatibility?

Consider temperature, concentration, moisture, oxidizing conditions and exposure time together, and review the specific material documentation.

Do food applications require additional documentation?

Verify material compliance for the contact medium, temperature and applicable rules. A fiber type alone does not establish suitability for every food process.
